Recently built, it was built on the slopes of a previous church dedicated to San Benedetto himself, located on the southern top of the town. The previous Church of San Benedetto was destroyed by the bombings of World War II and the land in which it stood was ceded by the Church to the Municipality which built the current Villa Comunale, also dedicated to San Benedetto il Moro.
Of the previous church there remains only an access located inside the Villa Comunale.
Of these Virgo a Vestir in San Fratello there are 5 specimens located 4 in the Churches of San Fratello and 1 in the Ermenegildo Latteria Museum in the historic center of San Fratello.
